These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of Alpine Driveways and Drainage services and website. By engaging our services or using our website, you agree to be bound by these Terms. Please read them carefully.

1. Services Provided

Alpine Driveways and Drainage provides:

  • Driveway installation and repair (asphalt, block paving, resin bound)
  • Drainage solutions and SUDS compliance
  • Site surveys and free quotations
  • Related groundwork and landscaping services

All services are subject to site survey and formal written quotation acceptance.

2. Quotations and Pricing

  • All quotations are valid for 30 days from the date of issue
  • Prices are based on site conditions observed during survey
  • Additional charges may apply if unforeseen ground conditions are discovered
  • All prices include VAT where applicable
  • Quotations do not constitute a binding contract until accepted in writing

3. Payment Terms

Standard Payment Schedule:

  • Deposit: 25% upon acceptance of quotation
  • Progress Payment: 50% upon commencement of work
  • Final Payment: 25% upon satisfactory completion

Payment methods: Bank transfer, cash, or cheque. Credit card payments may incur additional charges.

4. Work Schedule and Delays

  • Start dates are estimates and subject to weather conditions
  • We are not liable for delays caused by adverse weather, ground conditions, or circumstances beyond our control
  • We will notify you promptly of any anticipated delays
  • Project timelines provided are estimates and not guaranteed completion dates

5. Customer Responsibilities

The customer agrees to:

  • Obtain any necessary planning permissions or approvals
  • Provide clear access to the work area
  • Relocate vehicles and remove obstacles before work commences
  • Ensure utilities are clearly marked if known
  • Inform us of any underground services (cables, pipes, etc.)
  • Keep children and pets away from the work area

6. Guarantee and Warranty

We provide a 10-year guarantee on workmanship and materials, subject to:

  • Proper maintenance by the customer
  • Normal wear and tear exclusions
  • Damage caused by third parties or exceptional circumstances (flooding, subsidence) is not covered
  • The guarantee is non-transferable

Any warranty claims must be reported in writing within 7 days of discovery.

7. Cancellation Policy

Customer Cancellation:

  • Before work commences: Full refund of deposit minus £100 administration fee
  • After work commences: No refund; payment for work completed plus materials ordered

Our Right to Cancel: We reserve the right to cancel if site conditions differ materially from the survey, or if the customer breaches these terms.

8. Limitation of Liability

  • We carry public liability insurance of £5 million
  • Our liability is limited to the contract value
  • We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses
  • Claims must be made within 12 months of project completion

9. Health and Safety

We comply with all relevant health and safety legislation. The work area is our responsibility during working hours, but customers must keep unauthorized persons away from the site.

10. Materials and Suppliers

  • We use high-quality materials from reputable suppliers
  • Material specifications will be outlined in the quotation
  • We reserve the right to substitute equivalent materials if specified materials become unavailable

11. Dispute Resolution

Any disputes should first be raised with us in writing. We aim to resolve all complaints amicably. If unresolved, disputes may be referred to alternative dispute resolution or the appropriate UK courts.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any legal proceedings shall be brought in the courts of England and Wales.

13. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting to our website. Continued use of our services constitutes acceptance of updated Terms.
